In a magical underwater kingdom, young mermaid Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the human world above. But first...she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with her wicked Aunt Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.
Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a colorful and exciting production for our return to the theatre!
With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable is sure to bring a smile with tap dancing seagulls, fantastic “Under the Sea” creatures, and songs we all know from the movie...Kiss the Girl, Les Poissons, Poor Unfortunate Soul, Part of Your World as well as numbers written for the stage... She's In Love, Positoovity, Sweet Child, Her Voice, If Only, and more!
Bravo is excited to return to Father Ryan Center For the Arts for his full length Broadway production!
OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY: Bravo has safely produced live theatre during the pandemic by following health and safety guidelines. As more in our community are vaccinated and conditions improve, Bravo is excited to return to its longtime performance venue at Father Ryan, for The Little Mermaid! Bravo’s commitment to the health and safety of our performers, staff, volunteers, and patrons continues, and protocols are currently in place for The Little Mermaid production. Though Bravo will work hard to abide by guidelines, neither the guidelines themselves nor even guidance from the CDC would allow Bravo to guarantee an environment that is entirely free of risk. When attending a Bravo performance, you voluntarily assume all risks of exposure to COVID19 or other communicable illness. Bravo encourages all theatre guests to take precautions, as recommended by the CDC, to protect themselves and others.
The following are some of the protocols in place for Disney’s The Little Mermaid production.
1 - All patrons, performers, staff members, and volunteers should self-screen for COVID19 symptoms or any other illness prior to arriving on the Father Ryan campus. If you are sick, please stay at home. Additional health screenings, like temperature checks, may be required prior to admittance with sick or symptomatic individuals not admitted.
2 - Bravo recommends theatre patrons wear a mask.
3 - There will be enhanced hygiene, sanitation, and cleaning in public areas and backstage, especially for high touch surfaces. Concession stand will follow enhanced cleaning and hygiene guidelines, and only packaged foods and bottled water will be sold. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the building.
4 - All seating will be reserved seating with assigned seat numbers. (No general admission seating.) Tickets can be purchased online through Arts People prior to arrival at theatre, in order to avoid lines at a Box Office. Patrons needing to exchange tickets for a different performance, can make their own ticket exchanges at the Arts People site. Tickets should be printed at home and brought to theatre for quick entry into building. Screen shots of tickets can also be used.
5 - Although the auditorium seating does not incorporate social distancing, you are able to choose your seats on seating chart. The side section rows have fewer seats, so those rows are good choices for anyone wanting to be seated by fewer folks.
6 - Following the end of performance, weather permitting, we ask that audience members greet performers in the vast outdoor courtyard in front of the Ryan theater, rather than the lobby.
Please enjoy the show, and thank you for supporting youth in the arts!
